The RCC's Sunday Breakfast Speaker series continues. The special guest speaker for the Fall 2026 Show Breakfast is RCC Secretary Troy Zimmer, who will be talking about the proof notes of the short-lived Bank of Saskatchewan, which promoters had planned to open in Moose Jaw ca.1912 - 1913. The Bank never opened for business but its managers got as far as ordering a series of $5, $10 and $20 notes from the American Bank Note Company. Little known outside the specialty bank note collector world, these uniquely beautiful notes incorporate many of the Greco-Roman Revival elements popular with chartered bank note designs of the time, but eschewed the traditional allegorical figures commonly seen in favour of detailed vignettes exploring distinctly Saskatchewan themes.

Troy is a collector and numismatic author who specializes in coins, tokens, notes and medals with a connection to Saskatchewan, its history and its people. In addition to being Secretary for the Regina Coin Club, he is active in several national organizations including the Canadian Paper Money Society, of which he currently serves as President. This presentation was originally given at the CPMS Annual Luncheon at the Royal Canadian Numismatic Association's 2026 Convention in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
